Character: Sei
Series: DRAMAtical Murder
Age: 23
History: Sei's history right here!
Canon Point: Sei played a huge part in the common route, as he was the one sending Aoba the messages in the form of old school video games under the guise of "Captive Princess", and while it would make sense for me to take him from the "True Route" (Ren's Route), I will be taking him from the end of the common route. Just as he sends Aoba the invitation to get into Platinum Jail.

If you need further clarification I would be glad to give it!

Personality:

Sei has lived a lifetime under the control of the main antagonist of DRAMAtical Murder, Toue. He was raised to be completely different from Aoba. Going through countless tests of his consciousness and experiments, which all end up attributing to his fragility later on in his life. From the time he was a child and even into adulthood Sei was raised with limited human contact, and any time he got to spent around people it was with Virus and Trip. He valued the tiny bit time he got to spend with them, even if they were meant to subdue him.

It would be important to also note that Sei grew up knowing exactly what he was and where he came from. He was a test tube baby created in Toue's lab. He and Aoba were thought to be failed experiments as they had stopped breathing upon being born. Sei and Aoba had been connected by their hair, and after the hair between them was cut, Sei's breathing was the first to return. Sei deems that Aoba was lucky to have come back to life later on, as Sei has to live with the knowledge of what he is and know that because he was the first to awaken he would never live a normal life.

Sei developed somewhat of an apathetic view of his situation, breaking to the will of his situation and just accepting it. He knew that no one would be there to save him so he had to adjust his way of living to fit his situation- no matter how unhappy and displeased it made him.

He tends to enjoy the smaller things in life, slivers of friendship. Being able to live vicariously through things so that he can have a view of the outside world. Things like that make Sei happy, and at ease. He knows in his mind that the way he is treated is wrong, but his abilities, and the smallest bits of contact he gets with Virus and Trip- he values it all.

The most important person in the world to him is his younger twin Aoba. At the point of the "common" route in DRAMAtical Murder, Sei is already at such a point of displeasure in his life that he wishes to just disappear. It just helped that he was the kind of person that would do anything for the person that he cares for- and even having no contact whatsoever with Aoba, Sei knew that he was the only one that would be (and does) save him from suffering any longer.

To sum it up, Sei is a young adult who is soft-spoken, shy, kind of timid young adult who wants to taste even just the smallest bit of a bigger freedom.

SPOILERS: At the end of the "true route", which is Ren's route. Sei ends up giving his body over to Ren so that he may have a physical body to live in. It was his last act of kindness for both Ren and Aoba.

Skills and Abilities:

SCRAP. The ability of persuasion and the freedom to control whomever you want. That is what SCRAP does. Sei (as well as Aoba) possess this ability. There are two huge differences between their SCRAP ability. The first being that instead of using his voice, Sei uses his eyes. Staring into Sei's eyes-- some would call them "clear" or "pristine". They draw people in, and that is how Sei is able to hook them.

The second (and biggest) difference in the SCRAP that Sei possesses is that it is meant to bring life to things. This ties into Sei's ability to split his consciousness into many different things-- bringing life to them. Toue took advantage of this ability and made many dolls (one of which being Usui, the Rhyme referee) for Sei to inject his consciousness into.

The price he pays is that as he continues to split his conscious into many different things, he is gradually losing his own and causing his frailness.

First Person Sample:

Ah, hello. [There is a soft spoken voice on this end of the call, and he isn't used to this. Having the chance to have such casual conversations- it really is a small pleasure.] Forgive me for my lack of conversation, it is rather...strange to be able to do this so freely.

[The person on the other end laughs, saying something to the effect of "it's okay". Truly Sei is just pleased for the company. It wasn't normal to him to have such a small insignificant conversation, and they say something like this is...normal.] Of course, of course. I would be happy to accompany you for lunch tomorrow. The place we spoke about before of course.

Thank you, really. [Ah, the call's recipient seems a little embarrassed to be thanked. Yet. Sei really cannot help himself- happiness is what he feels.] Yes, bye-bye now.

Third Person Sample:

Hours, day, minutes. How long had it been? Sei had stopped counting the time a while back, but every once in a while he would run into this train of thought. What time was it? What is the temperature like outside? How did the people of Platinum Jail like the different attractions? Though it was a train of thought that often ended up in him upsetting himself, Sei couldn't help but think it.

Was it a longing for the freedom he couldn't have? Were things like Usui not enough to keep him satisfied where he was at? No. It was never enough. A look of apathy crosses his features again, even if he is alone right now he cannot help but hide his face. It was cruel to exist in such a place where you couldn't even fathom the outside world. He accepted his situation. Still, he dreams sometimes of what it would be like to freely move about Platinum Jail, or even Midorijima where Aoba lived.

"Aoba.." Someday, right? It had to be someday soon, the messages he's sent and the invitation. Sei was sure of it, he had always told himself that he would someday get to meet Aoba and that would be the day his suffering came to an end. It was just a matter of time now. Months, days, minutes, seconds. He was prepared for when that final moment came and he could be in his brother's presence one more time.
